A focus on sustainability, quality and the future

Today, Peter Müller operates a resource-efficient and forward-looking production business thanks to targeted investments in modern equipment and energy-efficient processes. A photovoltaic system (250 kWp), the use of biomass to heat the drying chambers and a new combined heat and power plant all contribute to greater energy efficiency and independence.

Investments with vision

Comprehensive measures have been implemented at the Möderscheid site under the new operating licence:

  • Soil remediation and rainwater management,
  • Additional impregnation vessel with automatic weighing system for the impregnating agent,
  • Canopy over the impregnation plant,
  • New storage facility for treated timber,
  • Installation of a 750 kW boiler and a combined heat and power plant with an electrical output of 56 kW.

These measures improve the company's carbon footprint and safeguard compliant and efficient production for the long term.

Strong regional roots, sustainable thinking

The roundwood we process comes from regional, sustainably managed forests. Processes such as DeepProtect and Postsaver® ensure long-lasting creosote-free wood protection. Short transport routes and optimised material flows reduce emissions and boost the future viability of our location.

Peter Müller applies the best available technology (BAT) and an active environmental management system (EMS) to promote responsibility, efficiency and quality in production.
